You Have a Book in You. Let's Get It Out.
Book coaching gives you an accountability system, and a clear path from idea to finished manuscript , so the book that's been living in your head finally makes it onto the page.
The Problem
You know you have something worth writing. Maybe it’s a professional book to build your business, or a story only you can tell.
But knowing you have a book and actually finishing one are two different things.
- You start strong, then stall three chapters in.
- You’re not sure if what you’re writing is any good.
- You don’t have anyone to ask, “does this make sense?” until it’s too late to fix.
- Life gets busy, and the book quietly moves to your “someday pile.”
A book coach solves all four of these, not by writing it for you, but by making sure you never have to figure it out alone.
What a Book Coach Actually Does
A book coach is your writing partner in every part of the process except the actual writing. Think of it as structure, accountability, and expert judgment, all in one relationship.
Together, we:
- Build your outline — so you know where the book is going before you write page one
- Provide developmental editing — big-picture feedback on structure and flow: does the book make sense as a whole, are chapters in the right order, is anything missing or redundant
- Set a realistic writing plan — with deadlines that actually get met, because someone’s expecting pages
- Work through the hard parts — the chapters you’re avoiding, the structure that isn’t working, the “is this even good?” moments
- Keep you accountable — regular check-ins so your momentum doesn’t die between sessions
- Prepare you for what’s next — if you want it: editing, publishing and launch (my full service package)
How It Works
- Free Brainstorming Session — We talk through your book idea, your goals, and whether coaching is the right fit.
- Agreement to Proceed, Outline & Plan — We map the book’s structure and set a writing schedule that fits your life.
- Regular Coaching Sessions — You write; I read, question, give you feedback, and keep you moving.
- A Finished Manuscript — Ready for the next step: professional editing.
Coaching is often just the beginning. Many clients continue with me for editing — and some go all the way through to book layout, cover design, and upload to Amazon for a published, launched book.
What Clients Say
Pat and Jennifer met at National Speakers Association meetings. Jennifer approached Pat asking for help critiquing and editing a book proposal.
"Getting Pat's approval on my book proposal truly made me believe I had a worthy book. Your family or friends are NOT the best evaluators of your book's worth. Pat's keen eye and thoughtful feedback gave me confidence and helped mold the book into something worthy of publication."

Cheri and Pat have been in the same mastermind for several years. She knew as soon as she decided to write a book that she wanted Pat’s help.
"In just three short sessions, we focused on the foundation and framework, title, subtitle, who my audience is, getting feedback on the title and subtitle, and mapping out the table of contents and story ideas. This process has been so motivating and inspirational, because I know this book is inside of me, but without Pat's guidance, I know it would not come to fruition."
